About Rebecca...

My Approach

With warmth, empathy and optimism, I strive to create an atmosphere of safety and trust. I believe that establishing a positive connection with you is essential for successful therapy. Together we can identify your needs and work towards your goals. I am trained in wide range of therapeutic approaches with a focus on psychodynamic therapy which emphasizes how past experiences shape our current feelings and experiences.

Areas of Practice

I provide individual and couple counseling to adults of all ages. I specialize in the issues important to young adults and women including improving self-esteem, fostering healthy relationships, managing anxiety, and overcoming depression. I have experience working with both men and women from diverse backgrounds on a wide range of issues including relationship problems, grief, career decisions, depression, panic/anxiety, trauma, domestic violence and childhood abuse.

I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed by California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCS18064, 1996). I have a Master's Degree in Social Welfare, with a mental health emphasis from UCLA, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.

Professional Experience

I have more than 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. In addition to my private practice, I was a clinician and training coordinator for 10 years at the Venice Family Clinic. I am currently a lecturer in the UCLA Department of Social Welfare where I teach direct practice classes.
